TheESP – Ep. #231 – How to Argue with a Racist, with Adam Rutherford

Download

This week we are joined by the brilliant British geneticist, broadcaster, science journalist and author, Dr Adam Rutherford.
He’s written several books of international acclaim like “Creation: The Origin of Life and the Future of Life”, “A Brief History of Everyone Who Ever Lived”, “The Book of Humans: The Story of How We Became Us” and “Humanimal: How Homo Sapiens Became Nature’s Most Paradoxical Creature”.
Avid podcast listeners might know him from the BBC Radio 4 shows ‘Inside Science’ and ‘The Curious Cases of Rutherford & Fry’, but he also frequently appears on TV both as presenter and as an expert in genetics. Adam frequently appears as a speaker at Skeptics in the Pub events and on the same day this interview goes out he will be giving a talk on Skeptics in the Pub Online that bears the same title as his latest book, How to Argue With a Racist: History, Science and Reality.

Enjoy!

    • And I don’t blame you for it. 🙂 The things he writes and talks about are gold. Thanks for lending your ear. I wish my mum could listen, too. BTW, thanks for raising such a great person, Mrs Böckman! ?

  2. Thanks for an interesting podcast I think you are the best of the skeptics podcasts I found for keeping up with news though being in California wish more was going on here. I listen most weeks.

    >>>>Last week episodes 228, 229 and 230 could not be heard on my MacBook. I suspect a computer problem on my end. But if you saw a drop in downloads my screen looked like this….
I could see #230 on top of my screen but when I clicked on it # 227 farther down the screen played.

    • Sorry to hear about your technical issue, Jim. So far we haven’t heard about similar issues from anyone else, so your suspicion that it might be occuring on your end might be correct. Let us know if it persist. And thanks for listening. ?
