This week we note that Martin Moder (see ep. #236) are making videos so well that anti-vaxxers want them taken down. The Swedish Skeptics has a great video up from their (English-speaking) Skeptics in the Pub on-line. Pope Francis keeps absolutely quiet regarding the abuse scandals in Spain and then we get a Covid-19 update before we look at the news:
- Facebook still making money out of anti-vax sites
- New book out in Portugal: ‘Caught by the virus’
- Eustoquio Molina award for standing up for science
- Largest global opinion poll yet shows great support for climate emergency actions
- Europe created more energy from renewables than fossil fuels last year
- There might not be phosphene in Venus’ atmosphere after all…
- Dyatlov Pass incident put in new context thanks to latest snow dynamics study
Tory MP Sir Desmond Swayne gets the Really Wrong Award for fueling sentiments against covid restriction .
Enjoy!

1:00:21 QUOTE AND FAREWELL
“‘Herbal medicine’, “Oh, herbal medicine’s been around for thousands of years!” Indeed it has, and then we tested it all, and the stuff that worked became ‘medicine’. And the rest of it is just a nice bowl of soup and some potpourri, so knock yourselves out.”

1:02:58 OUT-TAKES
I love the cute baby sounds. It brings back so many memories (skipping the lack of sleep bit).
The lovely thing about breastfeeding is that it only requires one hand to hold the baby with a good pillow. I worked on the design of our house by breastfeeding child #2 while using the other hand to work the mouse and click on the keyboard. 😉
Also, I refused to be sent to a bathroom/restroom to feed an infant. I had to tell them in our house no food was allowed in the same space as a toilet as it was not sanitary. That ended the discussion. (I was also appropriately covered up, so any objection was just silly).
